Since I was little, my parents would take me to museums and I would be beyond captivated. I would stand and stare at the artworks, completely intrigued.

My AP Art History class sophomore year gave me the context, the makers, and the movements behind the works I'd been drawn to for years — and with all of that, my appreciation only deepened.

The summer after that class, I traveled to Italy with my AP Art History teacher and a few classmates. Standing in front of works I'd learned about in slideshows, I felt chills. That trip is when I fully felt the power of art, and I knew I wanted to spend my life helping other people feel it too.
